On April 2, 2027, Ablaye Cissoko and Cyrille Brotto meet again at the Roudour - Pôle Culturel, in Saint-Martin-des-Champs, for an intimate acoustic encounter where two traditions speak to one another without forcing the dialogue. On one side, the kora and Ablaye Cissoko's voice, rooted in the Mandingue griots' lineage: a music of storytelling, of transmission, carried by the pulse of the strings and by the oral tradition. On the other side, Cyrille Brotto's diatonic accordion, nourished by traditional music and dance tunes, with that sense of rhythm and dance that makes melodies breathe.
As a duo, they build common ground between West Africa and Europe, between Mandingue motifs and the spirit of the waltz, leaving plenty of room for listening and for silences. A concert conceived as a conversation: the kora weaves, the accordion answers, and the themes circulate, transform, glide toward improvisation while preserving the simplicity of the bare sound.
