Joep Beving will be in concert on October 4, 2026 at Rockhal in Esch-sur-Alzette (Luxembourg). The Dutch composer and pianist based in Amsterdam has carved out a distinctive place in the neoclassical scene, somewhere between minimalism and ambient textures. His writing moves forward through repeated motifs, stripped-back harmonies, and melodies that unfold at their own pace, with a hushed touch and a genuine attention to silence as well as to resonance.
Revealed with Solipsism and later confirmed by Prehension, Henosis and Hermetism, Beving builds slow, precise pieces, often familiar to those who have encountered him in cinema or in series. On stage, he prioritizes the clarity of the piano and the intimacy of the recital, extending the atmosphere of his recordings: music that appears simple on the surface but is very carefully crafted, letting emotion arrive without forcing it.
