Udit Narayan is one of those voices that have accompanied decades of Hindi cinema since the 1980s. A playback singer who began at Radio Nepal and later trained in Mumbai, he established a clear and supple timbre, at ease as much with romantic ballads as with lighter numbers. Across filmi (Hindi cinema) songs, pop, semi-classical, bhajans and folk-inflected touches, he left his mark on Bollywood’s imagination with soundtracks that have become cult classics, from Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak to Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, and including Lagaan, Dil Chahta Hai and Swades. His trajectory, between India and Nepal, also explains this singular and immediately recognizable hue.
Aditya Narayan, active since childhood, extends the family tradition with a more pop and contemporary approach. He first came to prominence at a very young age on songs from films such as Rangeela or Masoom, before tracing his path between playback, personal projects and musical television. Trained in London in contemporary music, he moves between direct melodies, modern arrangements and more romantic singles, while continuing to lend his voice to cinema into the 2020s.
On 20 December 2026, Udit Narayan and Aditya Narayan will reunite on stage at the OVO Arena Wembley, in London, for an evening focused on their repertoires and their greatest hits.
