Jahneration tells the story of Thëo and Ogach, two Parisian friends who, in 2009, left punk rock aside to build reggae in their own way, nourished by hip-hop and touches of dancehall. Musicians since childhood, they write and sing in English tinted with Jamaican patois, with a knack for catchy choruses and flows that glide naturally over productions that are sometimes rootsy, sometimes more digital.
The duo has drawn heavily from Jamaican culture, even recording in 2017 with their musicians at Tuff Gong Studios, in the shadow of the Marley legacy. Over the years, collaborations have followed one another (Alborosie, Queen Omega, Naâman, Manu Chao, Dub Inc, Danakil), and their journey has been built primarily on stage, propelled by a direct energy and a real love of live performance.
On March 18, 2027, Jahneration will be at La Laiterie in Strasbourg to present this modern reggae, between catchy melodies and bass that sits upfront, tailored for the live show and conceived as an exchange with the audience.
