Lighthouses symbolize guidance, wind, and vastness—and that’s exactly how Skerryvore sounds. The Scottish octet, named after the lighthouse off the Isle of Tiree, has been weaving trad-rock energy with the melodies of the Highlands for more than 20 years. Fiddle, accordion, pipes, flutes and whistles meet guitar and a punchy rhythm section of bass, keys and drums, giving the whole thing a funky punch. At the center is the voice of frontman Alec Dalglish, who writes many of the songs and gives the sound a clear, modern edge. With 'Tempus' the band topped the Scottish album charts and the UK Folk charts in 2023, along with radio airplay and sold-out venues back home. After the new album 'Beautiful Mistakes' (announced for 2026), Skerryvore will come on 7 May 2027 with the eponymous tour to the Pumpwerk Cultural Centre in Wilhelmshaven—a night for everyone who doesn’t want to hear tradition in a museum but as a live moment with tempo and sweat.
