The Felice Brothers come to The Queen’s Hall in Edinburgh on February 13, 2027, bringing their Catskills-born mix of folk-rock, country and Americana to the stage. Formed in the mid-2000s around brothers Ian and James Felice, the band first made noise busking in the Manhattan subway, where their rough-edged sound and story-driven songs quickly stood out.
On record, they’ve always balanced traditional ballads with a more ramshackle rock pulse, with keyboards and accordion giving their music that warm, slightly crooked texture. From their early run (Through These Reins and Gone, Tonight at the Arizona, and the self-titled album) to later chapters like Life in the Dark, Undress, From Dreams to Dust, Asylum on the Hill and Valley of Abandoned Songs, they keep stretching the same rootsy framework without polishing it too much.
