And if, as Mathieu Madénian suggests, becoming a father is ultimately just a cosmic heist! A baby lands… and, all at once, our neatly ordered, known, comprehensible, reassuring world explodes. Like him, an ex-awkward teen who never quite grew up, we find ourselves juggling diapers, doubts and the ultimate anxiety: “What if my son found out that I don’t know how to make a Snapchat filter?”
So, between dusty tradition and the woke wave, there’s nothing left but to try to explain the life to come and its new concepts to a baby who already looks at us like a clueless old boomer who’s been left behind. The result is foregone; we miss the mark on everything. And that’s where it becomes interesting because every misstep becomes a punchline, every tear of fatigue turns into a burst of laughter. Mathieu Madénian knows this well, he who dissects his errors without a filter, his sleepless nights and this little tyrant who teaches him life better than any books: fatherhood is hilarious, it’s moving, it’s universal. Because by diving into this tender chaos we call child, we laugh at him, but above all at ourselves... and we come out a little less lost.
