Artist, composer and Australian curator Lawrence English has been exploring sound for more than two decades as a physical and perceptual experience. His work, spanning electronics, installation, and electroacoustic composition, investigates listening, memory, space, and our relationship with the environment.
In both his records and his performances and installations, English constructs soundscapes of great sensory intensity where acoustic and electronic sources merge to blur their boundaries. At the same time, through his label Room40, he has played a significant role in the development and dissemination of contemporary sound art.
