Martin Kohlstedt arrives on January 14, 2027 at Dabadaba (Donostia / San Sebastián) with his universe halfway between contemporary piano, electronics, and a very free concept of classical music. A German composer, pianist and producer, he builds pieces that evolve in real time during performances, with a modular approach that allows him to stretch melodies, textures and rhythms without losing the thread.
After training in multimedia art at Bauhaus University Weimar and exploring jazz piano and electronic production, he began his discography with two solo piano works, Tag (2012) and Nacht (2014), and broadened his sound with Strom by incorporating electronic instrumentation. Since then, his career has moved between albums, singles, EPs and soundtracks, with Feld (2023) as his latest full-length. Along the way he has collaborated with names such as Christian Löffler, Peter Broderick, Douglas Dare or Sudan Archives, and has developed projects that cross music and stage formats, from audiovisual proposals to interactive sound installations. For this date, the focus is on his live performance: intimate at its core, expansive in its form.
