Kaleo arrives in Madrid with its 'Way Down We Go Tour' on March 14, 2027, at Las Ventas. The Icelandic band, formed near Reykjavík in 2012, has been building a sound halfway between blues rock, folk, and alternative rock, with one foot in the American tradition and the other in a more contemporary energy.
Leading the outfit is Jökull “JJ Julius Son” Júlíusson, vocals and guitar, with a range that can swing from raspy tension to more intimate phrasing without losing presence. Around him, Davíð Antonsson, Daníel Kristjánsson and Rubin Pollock complete a lineup that plays with contrasts: electric riffs and driving drums, acoustic ballads that dim the lights, and soulful touches when needed.
After a debut album released in Iceland and the leap to the United States, Kaleo broadened its reach with A/B (2016) and continued refining the blend on Surface Sounds (2021), adding more atmospheric layers without sacrificing the rock and roots foundation. Live, that balance between punch and pause is where their identity is most clearly understood.
