Info
On September 29, 2026, Russian Circles is set to perform at The Opera House in Toronto, delivering its instrumental post-rock crafted for expansive crescendos and shifts in tension. Formed in Chicago, the trio has built an identity without vocals, where each track unfolds through motifs that move, thicken, and then tilt into heavier passages. Between stretched atmospheres and precise, punchy hits, their writing relies as much on precision as on impact, in the lineage of albums such as Empros, Memorial, Guidance, or Gnosis.
Beside them, Pelican continues its trajectory as a pillar of instrumental post-metal. Also born in Chicago, the group blends heavy riffs, often slower tempos, and crafted melodic lines, with that sense of dynamics that gives a track its staying power. From Australasia's early tensions to the more direct formats of City of Echoes, and, in more recent years, their returns, Pelican remains faithful to a dense sound, at the crossroads of doom, sludge, and post-rock.
