Old Mervs are set to play on September 22, 2026 at the Hollywood Theatre in Vancouver. Born in Kojonup, a small town in Western Australia, the duo brings together David House (vocals, guitar) and Henry Carrington-Jones (drums, backing vocals), childhood friends who have been playing together since 2017. Their indie rock goes straight to the point: a blend of alternative and surf rock, short melodic tracks, driven by bright guitars and a nervous rhythm, with simple, no-frills writing.
Having been spotted on the Australian indie circuit, notably via Triple J Unearthed, Old Mervs have released a string of releases that refine this tight format: the EP Get Better in 2022, followed by Give It Up in 2023. In 2025, their self-titled debut album, Old Mervs, extends the same dynamic, balancing rock energy with immediate choruses. On stage, the duo relies on rhythmic tension and the efficiency of the songs, without frills, with that bright, sunny edge characteristic of recent Australian indie.
