On October 3, 2026, in Montreal, Virtual Riot and Blanke will reunite for a date on the Far From Home tour, blending dubstep, drum and bass, and bass music in the broad sense. Behind Virtual Riot, German producer Christian Valentin Brunn has since the early 2010s been refining a highly intricate, ultra-detailed approach to his craft, where tight rhythms and prominent melodies rub up against brostep, complextro, and forays into electro house or future bass. Having emerged on the international EDM scene and long associated with Disciple Recordings, he has released EPs, remixes and collaborations, with an eye toward larger formats such as Simulation and later German Engineering. Blanke, aka John Paul Orchison, arrives with a darker and more narrative approach, built from tense buildups, heavy basslines, and breakbeats that swing easily into drum and bass. From his early EPs to releases such as Change & Decay and his newer projects, he moves between dubstep and faster textures, notably through his ÆON:MODE side, without losing his taste for hooks and nocturnal atmospheres.
