The Mary Wallopers

On 23 October 2026, The Mary Wallopers play O2 Victoria Warehouse in Stretford, United Kingdom. Born in Dundalk around brothers Charles and Andrew Hendy with their friend Seán McKenna, the group first cut its teeth on stripped-back pub sessions, reviving Irish ballads with guitar, banjo and voices up front. Their repertoire draws on travellers’ songs, street lore and social bite, told with a dry sense of humour and the easy swing of a backroom singalong.

Over time the trio has expanded on stage with additional players, widening the sound without losing the direct, communal feel that defines them. During lockdown they broadcast from their Dundalk base, shaping a living-room aesthetic that fed straight back into their live shows. The concert threads traditional standards recast in their style with original material from across their releases: the 2019 EP A Mouthful of The Mary Wallopers, the self-titled album in 2022 and Irish Rock ’n’ Roll in 2023. Folk roots, close harmonies and a no-frills delivery that brings the pub-session energy to a larger room.
