On 4 March 2028, Scarborough Spa welcomes Simon Fowler for The Ocean Colour Scene Songbook… and Beyond. The voice behind Ocean Colour Scene, Fowler revisits the band’s path from their Birmingham roots to the mid-90s breakthrough, where britpop met blues rock and English soul. He draws from the catalogue that took OCS through albums like Moseley Shoals, Marchin’ Already and One from the Modern, then into later releases such as Mechanical Wonder and North Atlantic Drift, bringing back the crisp guitars, easy swing and mod-tinged spirit that shaped their sound.

“And Beyond” opens the door to a wider palette. Fowler steps outside the core songbook to reflect the collaborations and influences that have fed his writing over the years. With the clear, melodic phrasing that marked the group, he connects familiar songs to their origins while setting them alongside material from other corners of his repertoire. He revisits the work that made his name and places it in the context of where his songwriting has since travelled.
