Capleton

Capleton touches down in Bristol on 17 September 2026 at O2 Academy Bristol. Born Clifton George Bailey III in Saint Mary, Jamaica, the singjay came up on Kingston’s dancehall circuit before breaking through in the early ’90s with Alms House and Good So. His voice is fast and percussive, between deejay and singer, and his lyrics carry Rastafari themes, social issues and the fire imagery that runs through his catalogue. Prophecy (1995) and I-Testament (1997) widened his reach, including collaborations with Method Man and Q-Tip. Then came a roots-leaning run with More Fire (2000), Still Blazin (2002) and Reign of Fire (2004), keeping him active across reggae, dancehall and international festivals.

On stage, Capleton drives clipped cadences, call-and-response and heavyweight riddims built for movement as much as message. The set draws on early anthems and deeper roots cuts alongside newer material, tracing a line from sound system culture to big-room impact. A focused show from an artist whose delivery stays direct, militant and spiritual.
