Anthony Kavanagh « Jet Lag »

Anthony Kavanagh, a Québécois comedian, actor and singer, brings his show Jet Lag to Paris. On March 6, 2027, at the Théâtre de la Gaîté Montparnasse, he presents a fast-paced stand-up performance nourished by improvisation, characters and musical flourishes. True to his back-and-forth between jokes and confidences, he plays with the idea of displacement — time zones, cultures, generations — to explore what irritates and what connects. Jet Lag becomes an improvised journey in which he returns to familiar ground: cultural differences between Quebec and France, couple life, a connected society, the search for meaning, and those everyday details that linger.

Having first come to prominence in the 1990s, Anthony Kavanagh has developed a stage language that blends comedy, dance, music and impersonation. On stage he moves from one register to another without losing the thread, with a stage presence and sense of rhythm that structure his writing. With Jet Lag he extends this approach—between observing the world and stage energy—relying on the immediacy of live performance and interaction with the audience.
