Info
Moral Support and Gonzaï present:
On June 23 at Le Chinois, Gonzaï offers a night where French electronic music brings together reflection and dance. Headlining: Rubin Steiner, back on the machines, and Lyon’s Société Étrange, in a club-krautrock mode.
Rubin Steiner (FR - Tours)
Rubin Steiner, aka Frédéric Landier, is a notable figure on the French electronic scene. Since LO-FI NU JAZZ, released in 1998, he has worked across formats. In 2026 he released What Would Brian Eno Have Done, his seventeenth album, which came out on April 18 on Platinum Record. Composed, performed, recorded and mixed by himself at the Château du Plessis, the record embraces its homage to Brian Eno — even including a cover of “Golden Hours” — while blending cosmic exotica, oblique jazz, nods to krautrock and laboratory-like whimsy.
Société Étrange (FR - Lyon)
Société Étrange is a Lyon trio with Antoine Bellini on electronics, Romain Hervault on bass, and Jonathan Grandcollot on drums and machines. After Au Revoir and Chance, the group released Heat on Les Disques Bongo Joe, Carton and Standard In‑Fi. Seven tracks without choruses, cyclical structures, slow tempos and a prominent bass.
