Fickle Friends

Fickle Friends land at Thekla, Bristol on 6 October 2026. Born in Brighton in 2013 and now a tight quartet led by singer-keyboardist Natassja Shiner, they sit at the junction of indie pop, synth-pop and alt rock, with sharp choruses, bright keyboards and a live-first energy. Early singles Swim, Play and For You set the tone before the Velvet (2015) and Glue (2017) EPs paved the way to a debut album, You Are Someone Else (2018), recorded in Los Angeles with Mike Crossey. The two-part Weird Years project arrived in 2021, followed by a leaner second LP, Are We Gonna Be Alright? (2022), where the writing grew more direct without losing that nervy melodic core. After shifting from a five-piece to a quartet following Christopher Hall’s departure, the band kept momentum with standalone tracks and a rework of Kelly by The Aces, then returned in 2025 with a self-titled third album that crystallises their synth-led hooks and guitar bite. On stage, expect a mix of new material and crowd favourites, balancing shimmering synth rushes and tighter, punchier cuts shaped for a room like Thekla.
