Way Dynamic

Way Dynamic is the solo project of Melbourne multi-instrumentalist Dylan Young. On stage, his minimalist folk-pop leans toward art rock and baroque pop: clear guitars, close-mic vocals, unhurried tempos and arrangements that quietly thicken with keys and layered parts. With Massive Shoe, a third album recorded and largely produced by Young, the writing stays light on its feet while lingering on small turns of phrase, moving between dry humour and plainspoken sentiment. Young also plays with Cool Sounds and Good Morning, and has drummed for Snowy Band and Kankawa Nagarra; live, he expands these home-built songs with a band, sharpening contrasts between hushed passages and more driven sections.

The set navigates cruisy drift and gentle bite, drawing on songs like Miffed It and Ibiza alongside earlier material. Melodies slide in softly, choruses surface without strain, and details reveal themselves on repeat. Way Dynamic plays Scala in London on 3 September 2026.
