Info
On April 2, 2027, at the Salle Pleyel in Paris, Loreena McKennitt celebrates the 30th anniversary of The Mask and the Mirror. The Canadian singer and composer revisits the album released in 1994, a crossroads of her Celtic, Spanish and Moroccan influences. Conceived as a journey through poetry, history and traditions, it marked her trajectory, encompassing ballads, instrumental pieces and string arrangements.
On stage she performs the entirety of The Mask and the Mirror in order and complements it with selected pieces from her repertoire, eagerly anticipated by her audience. Her voice, the interplay of the strings and acoustic textures are at the heart of the concert, supported by her long‑time musicians: Caroline Lavelle on cello, Brian Hughes on guitars, Hugh Marsh on violin, Dudley Phillips on bass and Robert Brian on drums. It’s an opportunity to hear live the themes and soundscapes that run through her discography, from The Visit to The Book of Secrets, with the detour into medieval Spain and the Maghreb that infuses The Mask and the Mirror.
