Info
On 14 May 2027, at the Zénith Nantes Métropole in Saint-Herblain, MEUTE deployed its brass-band techno: eleven musicians, brass to the fore and percussion at the centre, translating house and techno into a 100% acoustic sound. Born in Hamburg in 2015 around trumpeter Thomas Burhorn, the group first made its name with its reinterpretation of "Rej" by Âme, before expanding its repertoire to include versions of tracks by Laurent Garnier, Disclosure, Dennis Ferrer and Deadmau5. On stage, the pulse remains that of the club, but it is played with full-bodied energy, without machines, with meticulously crafted arrangements and the dynamics of drops and build-ups.
Across the albums Tumult (2017), Live in Paris (2019), Puls (2020), Taumel (2022) and Empor (2024), MEUTE has added its own compositions to its reinterpretations, consolidating a set that moves between rearranged electronic classics and original pieces. The collective has toured Europe, North America, southern Africa and Australia, and has crossed paths with figures such as Laurent Garnier, Stephan Bodzin and Henrik Schwarz. In Saint-Herblain, that orchestral energy and rhythmic writing reappear, turning the codes of dance music toward the street and the concert stage.
