Elaine Malone, born in Limerick and active in Cork’s DIY scene for more than ten years, moves between psych-rock, dark folk, shoegaze textures and a country inheritance, with echoes of 1990s grunge, The Velvet Underground and Lee Hazlewood in the background. A multi-instrumentalist, she composes from guitar, bass, percussion and harmonium, creating slow-tempo tracks punctuated by rougher surges. Released in 2018, her EP Land already established a clear narrative—between folk sparseness, electric tension and an emphasis on sonic space. On stage, she nudges this material toward a broader psychedelic rock while retaining the artisanal, DIY approach of the Irish independent circuits.
