Alela Diane

Alela Diane brings her voice and fingerpicked guitar to an intimate, stripped‑back set and signing at Rough Trade Denmark Street in London on 28 May 2026. Raised in a family of musicians in Nevada City, the American songwriter has built, since the mid‑2000s, a catalogue of folk songs shaped by close listening and simple arrangements, from The Pirate’s Gospel and To Be Still to a fuller band excursion on Alela Diane & Wild Divine, then a return to pared‑back writing on About Farewell. Her collaboration Cold Moon with Ryan Francesconi opened an instrumental path, while Cusp and Looking Glass added piano and strings without losing the acoustic core.

This event celebrates the release of her new album, Who’s Keeping Time?, on Loose Music. In a solo or near‑solo configuration, Diane favors space and clarity, letting the songs stand on voice, guitar and a few textures. She will share new material alongside selections from across her catalogue, and meet listeners for a signing after the performance.
