Electric Six

Electric Six bring their Detroit-bred fusion of rock and dancefloor instincts to Manchester Academy on 25 November 2026. Led since the beginning by Dick Valentine, the band grew from their Wildbunch origins into a singular blend of garage bite, funk snap, hard rock muscle, new wave shimmer and disco pulse. Early singles Danger! High Voltage (with an uncredited Jack White) and Gay Bar set the template for Fire in 2003: sharp hooks, tight rhythms and a sly, deadpan sense of humor that runs through the catalogue.

On stage, Electric Six play with shifting identities and a theatrical edge, pushing songs that swing from chugging guitars to synth-driven grooves without losing their direct, punchy core. The set draws across eras, from Fire through Señor Smoke and Switzerland to Turquoise, balancing chorus-led crowd moments with the band’s knack for elastic basslines, handclap beats and stabbing riffs. Valentine’s baritone sits front and center, tossing out straight-faced one-liners while the band locks into an energetic, danceable stride.
