From Boston, Vundabar has carved out a sound that threads surf currents, post‑punk tension and crooked pop melodies. Built around Brandon Hagen’s pointed guitar work and signature vocal tone alongside Drew McDonald’s drumming, the band moved from the raw immediacy of Antics and Gawk to the darker contours of Smell Smoke and Devil for the Fire, with Either Light opening space for denser arrangements. On stage, the group functions as a tight core with a rotating bassist, pushing contrasts in tempo and texture while keeping songs catchy and direct.
Yot Club is the project of American musician Ryan Kaiser, born between Mississippi and Nashville in the late 2010s. His tracks sit between indie pop and bedroom pop, with glassy, lightly overdriven guitars, simple, looping rhythms and a hushed voice that sketches a mellow, straightforward mood. After YKWIM? found a wider audience online, the 2022 album off the grid nudged the project toward quicker tempos and melodic post‑punk shapes. Live, Yot Club becomes a full band, giving the songs a more energetic frame while staying close to themes of everyday drift, suburban ennui and the pull of escape.
