Info
Melbourne’s Telenova bring their shadow‑lit alt‑pop to Manchester, driven by the voice and pen of Filipino‑Australian singer and filmmaker Angeline Armstrong alongside multi‑instrumentalists Edward Quinn and Joshua Moriarty. The trio craft songs like short films, where trip‑hop undercurrents, electronica pulses and indie writing meet, with the vocal line always in focus. Since the debut EP Tranquilize in 2021 and its track Bones, they’ve honed a clear language that runs through the follow‑up Stained Glass Love to the 2024 album Time Is a Flower.
On stage, Telenova lean into supple rhythms, precise arrangements and a nocturnal mood, keeping a pop sense that stays accessible without smoothing out their electronic edges. After festivals at home and tours across the UK and Europe, plus support slots for girl in red, St. Vincent and Ruel, the band now return with a set that plays on dynamics and atmosphere, carried by Armstrong’s storytelling. Telenova at The Deaf Institute in Manchester, on 5 October 2026.
