Codefendants

Codefendants bring their crime wave blend to O2 Academy Oxford on 18 October 2026. Formed by rapper and songwriter Ceschi Ramos, vocalist Sam King from California punk outfit Get Dead, and Fat Mike of NOFX and Fat Wreck Chords, the trio sits between alternative hip hop, punk roots and a darker pop sensibility. On stage, Ceschi and Sam King trade sung hooks, spoken passages and rapid-fire phrasing over tense guitars and rhythms that lean into rap, with Fat Mike’s punk backbone shaping the overall drive.

Their 2023 album This Is Crime Wave anchors the set, with songs built like tight narratives and room for features, bridges and tempo shifts. Expect slow-burn ballads next to ska-tinged turns, alternative rock edges and tracks that move straight into rap, all stitched together by melodies that keep a melancholy thread running through the show. Codefendants channel the energy of independent punk and DIY hip hop scenes into a live format that favors contrast, interplay and storytelling, without losing the grit at the core of the project.
