Info
TV Girl bring their sample-led indie pop to Waterfront Hall in Belfast on 27 May 2026. Started in San Diego in 2010 around Brad Petering and Trung Ngo, the project has since settled as a trio with Petering, Jason Wyman and Wyatt Harmon. On stage, their collage of dusty samples, lo‑fi textures and dream‑pop melodies frames stories of brief romances, memory and mild disenchantment, handled with a dry, ironic touch.
The set leans into the arc traced by their records: the bedroom-pop immediacy of French Exit and Who Really Cares, the nocturnal sway of Death of a Party Girl, and the broader palette of Grapes Upon the Vine, where soul and gospel shades creep in without breaking the spell. TV Girl’s taste for 50s/60s pop motifs and crate-digging loops remains the backbone, turning familiar fragments into something coolly hypnotic. They may also nod to side steps like Summer’s Over with Jordana or the 2024 link-up Fauxllennium with George Clanton. Live, it’s about groove and drift more than volume, a tight weave of beats and hooks that invites you to lean in and let the details surface.
