Squeeze

On 27 November 2026, Squeeze bring their finely cut pop storytelling to Cardiff International Arena in Cardiff. Formed in London in 1974 around the songwriting partnership of Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook, the band helped define UK new wave with concise melodies, crisp guitar lines and lyrics that capture everyday scenes with a dry, distinctly British twist. Early staples like Take Me I’m Yours, Cool for Cats and Up the Junction set their template: tight grooves, memorable hooks and narratives that stick.

Across albums such as East Side Story and Sweets from a Stranger, Squeeze refined that balance of bite and melody, then returned over the years with new material that kept the thread intact, from Cradle to the Grave to The Knowledge. Through every shift in lineup, the Difford–Tilbrook axis has remained the engine, a partnership built on call-and-response vocals, chiming riffs and songcraft that prizes detail over flash. On stage, those harmonies and taut arrangements take the lead, guitars trading phrases while the stories unfold in three-minute bursts built for a live room.
