Info
On 26 June 2026, Blackweir Fields in Cardiff brings together Teddy Swims, Lauren Spencer Smith and Jordan Rakei for a line-up rooted in soul, pop and R&B.
Teddy Swims, from the Atlanta area, first drew attention in 2019 with stripped-back covers before shifting to his own songs. Blending soul and R&B with touches of gospel, rock and country, he moves between piano-led ballads and punchier pop. EPs Unlearning (2021), Tough Love and Sleep Is Exhausting (2022) paved the way for his debut album I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 1) in 2023, with the single Lose Control. On stage, expect a voice-led set anchored by a steady soul groove.
Lauren Spencer Smith, born in Portsmouth and raised on Vancouver Island, writes direct, melodic pop-soul about love, breakups and growing up. After early YouTube covers and a top 20 run on American Idol in 2020, she connected widely with Fingers Crossed, Flowers and Narcissist, later gathered on her 2023 album Mirror.
Jordan Rakei, New Zealand-born and London-based, threads soul, jazz and alternative R&B with understated electronics. From Cloak and Wallflower to Origin, What We Call Life and The Loop (2024), his songs balance warm vocals, keys and syncopated grooves, shaped by collaborations with Disclosure, FKJ and Tom Misch.
