Info
Saint Etienne bring their Final UK tour to Bristol Beacon in Bristol on 16 September 2026. Formed in Croydon in 1990, the trio of Sarah Cracknell, Bob Stanley and Pete Wiggs fuse club culture with classic British pop, moving between melodic house, synthpop and indie dance with an ear for narrative detail. From the debut Foxbase Alpha and the cinematic flow of So Tough to the folk-tinged electronics of Tiger Bay and the Berlin-recorded Sound of Water, their songs trace three decades of evolving textures and steady hooks.
Later releases — Finisterre, Tales from Turnpike House, Words and Music, Home Counties, and more recent projects I’ve Been Trying to Tell You, The Night and International — extend that map, with recurring threads of London life, film references and memory. On stage, the band align clear vocals with pulsing rhythms and sleek electronics, shifting from buoyant pop to ambient drift. This date folds early favorites and newer material into a set that sketches the group’s journey from 1990s indie-dance roots to their latest explorations.
