Scottish outfit King King, led by singer-guitarist Alan Nimmo and featuring his brother Stevie Nimmo, has carved a place in modern blues rock with a sound that folds soul and classic rock into sturdy guitar lines. From early Glasgow gigs to albums like Take My Hand, Standing in the Shadows, Reaching for the Light, Exile & Grace and Maverick, the group has refined warm Hammond textures, gritty vocals and choruses built for the stage, anchored by a clear, song-first approach.
On stage, King King favor straight-ahead writing, grounded grooves and slow-burn ballads that open into vocal harmonies and extended guitar work. The music is shaped for the room, tight and melodic without losing the grit of the blues. The set moves between introspection and uplift, built around clear hooks and a rhythm section that keeps everything locked in. King King play O2 Academy Oxford on 20 September 2026.
