On 26 October 2026 at Think Tank Newcastle, Allie X brings her singular pop laboratory to Newcastle upon Tyne. Born Alexandra Ashley Hughes in Ontario and now based in Los Angeles, she sculpts songs where introspective writing meets precise electronics, navigates between synth-pop, art pop and a darker palette. The early Catch and the CollXtion cycle laid the groundwork, refined on Super Sunset around the play of aliases and the distance between public image and private self, then carried into moodier storytelling with Cape God. Her 2024 album Girl With No Face extends that thread, exploring masks, identity and control through dense textures and clean, efficient melodies.

On stage, Allie X treats the set like a staged narrative: stylised silhouettes, graphic gestures and a tight visual language that echoes the songs’ inner tension. Expect new pieces from Girl With No Face woven with earlier tracks, arrangements that move from icy synth layers to direct, uncluttered choruses.
