Destroyer returns to Italy with Dan’s Boogie, Dan Bejar’s new album that reshuffles his musical and narrative vocabulary. At the Locomotiv Club in Bologna on 21 September 2026, the band brings to the stage a set that follows the album’s new trajectories: pop songs layered in detail, spare piano ballads and atmospheric pieces that push the song toward more cinematic and literary territories, without losing the narrative’s tautness.

At the center is “Bologna,” the lead single that marks a surprising turn: Bejar steps back into a sidelong role, almost a voice-over, while the presence of Simone Schmidt (Fiver) flickers on and off like a character on the run. Her performance adds weight and roughness to a text threaded by the theme of disappearance, suggesting that dark backstage hinted at by the record.

With Dan’s Boogie, Bejar opens a new phase of the project: not a total reinvention, but a broadening of the field where narrative impulse, essential arrangements and an underground tension coexist. In concert, this shifting geometry promises dynamics of light and shadow, sudden turns and writing that moves between confession and observation, in and out of focus, like a story that keeps rewriting itself from the hidden side of the stage.
