The Vaccines take over the decks for an aftershow DJ set at London Calling – UK Party, bringing their London-bred indie instincts to Milan. Formed in 2010 around Justin Young and Freddie Cowan, the band broke through fast with the debut What Did You Expect from The Vaccines?, then pushed further with Come of Age, a UK chart-topper. Along the way they’ve shared stages with Arctic Monkeys, Muse and Arcade Fire, shaping a sound of tight hooks and brisk guitars that still hits hard.
For this DJ spin, they trade amps for turntables without dropping the pulse, guiding the room through the sounds that forged them: garage pop, post-punk revival, Britpop essentials and sharp contemporary indie, with a few curveballs and winks to their own catalogue. It’s a late-night selection cut for moving, stitched together by a band that knows how to keep momentum.
