Locus 2026 - 13 agosto: Thundercat, Dj Koco, Nico Arezzo, Arya

On 13 August 2026, at Masseria Ferragnano in Locorotondo, Thundercat returns to Locus. The Los Angeles bassist, multi-instrumentalist and singer, fourteen years after his first appearance at the festival and his debut on Brainfeeder, arrives with his fifth album, Distracted, out on Flying Lotus’s label — six years after It Is What It Is, which won the Grammy for Best Progressive R&B. On stage he brings a mix of jazz fusion, funk, soul and R&B tinged with psychedelia, a melodic bassline and falsetto vocals. Between layered grooves and lyrics that weave together current events, pop culture and irony, the live show traces his path through hip hop, contemporary jazz and electronic music.

Following him, DJ KOCO aka SHIMOKITA. The Japanese artist is a key figure in 7" turntablism, performing entirely on vinyl with a selection that spans rare groove, house, disco, funk and hip hop, combining rapid cuts with millimetre‑precise mixing. Making his Locus debut — and appearing in Italy as a national exclusive — his DJ set will close the date with a high‑precision vinyl performance.
