Info
On 11 July 2026 at the Montreux Music & Convention Center in Montreux, Switzerland, Montreux Jazz Festival hosts a meeting between Moby and Cerrone, two figures who have shaped club culture in different eras.
Moby, electronic musician Richard Melville Hall, emerged from New York’s club scene with early house and techno cuts like Go, before widening his scope across rave impulses, ambient textures and pop structures. Albums such as Everything Is Wrong and Play folded blues and gospel samples into downtempo frameworks, a balance he’s continued to explore through melancholic songs, floor‑ready tracks and expansive ambient works, up to the orchestral revisits of Reprise. On stage, expect him to weave classics and newer material into a steady flow of hypnotic rhythms, hushed atmospheres and clear, melodic hooks.
Cerrone, French drummer, composer and disco architect, built a signature sound in the late 1970s around long-form arrangements: assertive percussion, orchestral strings and analogue synth lines designed for the club. Love in C Minor and Supernature defined that approach, which he keeps refining live with edits, live drums and arrangements that connect vintage disco to modern house and nu‑disco. His set draws on a catalogue crafted for movement, linking original grooves with contemporary production detail.
