Subset touches down in Basel for the first time with an indoor daytime session at Das Viertel, Basel on May 1, 2026. Two international guests make their Subset debut: Culture Shock and Arcando, ready to explore the drum & bass spectrum in an intimate setting.

Culture Shock, the UK project of James Pountney, brings a tight blend of euphoric hooks and heavyweight rhythm with a sleek, futuristic edge. A fixture of the Worship camp with a past on RAM, he crafts tracks that hit both physically and emotionally. On stage, he moves from widescreen, cinematic lifts to tense, peak-time pressure, stitching vocal refrains, bright pads and precisely tooled basslines into a set built for constant motion.

Arcando delivers a sharp, modern take on drum & bass shaped by years across electronic music. Crisp production and emotive sound design lead the way: soaring themes, clean percussion and drops that land with intent. His approach balances adrenaline and melody, keeping momentum high while letting the melodies breathe — a focused, high-impact style for his Subset debut.
