DJ Krush

DJ Krush is a DJ and producer from Japan associated with trip-hop and abstract hip-hop. On Wednesday, October 28 at Kollektivet Livet in Stockholm, he plays 18h30-23h00.

The DJ from Japan was inspired by the film Wild Style in the 1980s, which was the starting point for his journey in hip-hop. He started with the groups B-FRESH3 and later Krush Posse, a Japanese hip-hop act with a 1 MC/2 DJ lineup. When the group disbanded in 1992, he became a solo artist.

Since then, DJ Krush has developed a musical expression with DJing at the center. In the mid-90s, he released his debut album Krush and Strictly Turntablized via the British label Mo' Wax. Over the years, he has collaborated with artists across scenes in global trip-hop and abstract hip-hop.

He has toured the world, playing in more than 60 countries and over 350 cities, and performing at festivals such as Glastonbury, Sónar and Coachella. His latest album, Saisei, was released in 2024.

As far as we know, DJ Krush has not played in Stockholm for a long time.
