Info

On 2 May 2026 at Whelan’s, Dublin, Gabrielle Aplin brings a set that bridges her acoustic roots and her more expansive pop writing. Raised in Wiltshire, she first emerged with home-recorded songs centred on voice, guitar and piano, before breaking through with English Rain in 2013. Since then she’s shifted palette without losing the core of her songwriting: the pop and indie leanings of Light Up the Dark, the brighter, reflective tone of Dear Happy, and the subtle electronic textures of Phosphorescent (2023).

On stage, that journey turns into warm, melodic ballads and brisk alt-pop cuts, carried by a clear voice and crisp arrangements. There are stripped-back moments that pull the lyrics into focus, alongside fuller tracks where keys, guitar and light beats open the space. Years of touring across the UK and Europe have sharpened a live flow that moves easily between quiet storytelling and tighter hooks, with room for earlier favourites and newer material. A close-up night of songs that breathe in a room like Whelan’s.
