The Brothers Comatose

On 5 September 2026, The Brothers Comatose hit The Sound House in Dublin. Formed around siblings Ben and Alex Morrison, the Northern California outfit has grown into a quintet whose bluegrass roots open out to folk and Americana, with a rock streak shaped by early covers of Led Zeppelin, the Rolling Stones and Creedence Clearwater Revival. On stage, acoustic guitar, banjo, fiddle, mandolin and upright bass trade lines and lock into steady grooves, while close harmonies carry the choruses. The set roams through a decade-plus of releases — Songs from the Stoop, Respect the Van, City Painted Gold, Ink, Dust, and Luck, Turning Up the Ground and Ear Snacks — balancing seasoned live staples and newer cuts. After stops at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, High Sierra, Outside Lands and Kate Wolf, and tours alongside The Devil Makes Three, Yonder Mountain String Band and Lake Street Dive, the band brings contemporary acoustic writing powered by collective energy and the Morrison brothers’ interplay.
