Dove Ellis

Info

Dove Ellis, the project of Irish musician Thomas O’Donoghue, lands at The Workman’s Club in Dublin on 18 May 2026 with a set built around voice, guitar and a lean indie folk writing style. His songs sit where acoustic songwriting meets an indie rock edge, keeping the arrangements close to the bone while leaving room for a band dynamic on stage. After a self-released debut EP, To the Sandals, in 2024, Ellis picked up pace in 2025 with the singles To the Sandals, Love Is and Pale Song, then closed the year with Blizzard, a first album that tightened his focus on melody and song form without losing that group-centred anchor.

On stage, Ellis has traced a clear path: opening for Geese on the Getting Killed World Tour and recording a session at St. James’ Church for Other Voices in November 2025. These live milestones frame a sound that favors direct songwriting and clear contours over ornament, with the guitar and voice carrying most of the weight. At The Workman’s Club, expect songs that move from hushed, acoustic textures to a more driven pulse, drawing on the same contemporary folk palette that runs through Blizzard and his recent singles.
