Tori Amos - In Times of Dragons

Tori Amos brings her In Times Of Dragons tour to Hamburg: on 16 May 2026 she will take the stage at the Laeiszhalle. The US songwriter, classically trained at the piano, has relied since the early ’90s on the tension between voice, grand piano and precisely placed arrangements. From Little Earthquakes and Under the Pink, through Boys for Pele to Ocean to Ocean, her work travels through intimate, religious and mythological themes, ranging from art‑rock and pop to colors that approach chamber‑music timbres.

Live, the piano moves to the center: solo passages meet condensed soundscapes that also allow room for electronic shadings and folk and pop textures. Amos frequently revisits older pieces and shifts their perspective—by altering tempos, using new voicings or employing unexpected modulations. Her experiences with orchestra (Night of Hunters, Gold Dust) and her venture into musical theatre with The Light Princess feed into the dramaturgy without overshadowing the core. The concert thus traces a line through more than three decades of songwriting and opens up space for nuances that are only hinted at in the studio.
