La Yegros

On May 13, 2027, La Laiterie in Strasbourg hosts La Yegros, a voice born between Buenos Aires and Misiones that merges cumbia and electronic music. Emerging from the ZZK-branded nu-cumbia scene, Mariana “La Yegros” Yegros has crafted a repertoire where cumbia, chamamé and carnavalito converse with pop and hip-hop. On stage, her direct, commanding vocals rest on powerful basslines, Latin percussion and motifs drawn from the folklore of Argentina’s northeast. Her flexible band setup emphasizes fluid transitions and collective energy, blending machines, guitar and keyboards.

From the early tracks on Viene de mí, co-produced with Gaby Kerpel (aka King Coya), to the more melodic textures of Magnetismo and the dance impulses of Suelta, the set moves through staccato cadences and catchy choruses while staying rooted in rural tradition. Tour after tour across Europe and Latin America, La Yegros has refined this live-oriented mix: electronic kick, bombo legüero, backing vocals and breaks that invite audience response. In Strasbourg she will present a survey of her albums, stage rearrangements and an electric nu-cumbia that balances heritage with contemporary beats.
