Info
On November 24, 2026, at La Rayonne in Villeurbanne, Robert Finley presents his Louisiana blues. Born in Bernice, he spent many years playing on the streets and as part of Brother Finley and the Gospel Sisters, before recording his first album, Age Don't Mean a Thing (2016), at the age of 62. His encounter with Dan Auerbach opened a new phase, with Goin’ Platinum (2017), the autobiographical Sharecropper’s Son (2021) and Black Bayou (2023), all infused with his native soil.
On stage, Finley unfolds a rough, deep voice, backed by a supple rhythm section and earthy guitars. The set draws on his four albums, moving between blues, Southern soul, gospel and rock 'n' roll, with songs presented as fragments of life. Raw tones, roomy tempos, melodies that settle in: a spare, organic live show focused on the singing and the story, in which Louisiana comes through in every piece.
