Darren Kiely

On 27 October 2026 Darren Kiely brings his songs—straddling folk-pop and Irish tradition—to the Plaza Club, Badenerstrasse 109, 8004 Zürich. Raised in County Cork, first trained on the tin whistle and fiddle and later on guitar, he anchors his songs in clear melodies, acoustic arrangements and a direct vocal delivery. Since his move to New York in 2022 he has been sharpening the mix of Celtic colour and contemporary folk storytelling, with songs that stay close to personal moments: relationships, family, turning points. Singles such as How Could You Love Me, Ella, Time To Leave and Mom & Dad map out this terrain and give an idea of what happens live: intimate, storytelling songs that land without detour—sometimes tender, sometimes driving—carried by fiddle and guitar lines. On stage Kiely favors pared-back arrangements and subtle dynamics; the songs breathe, the choruses land, and between numbers his Irish trad heritage keeps reappearing.
