Info

Roméo & Juliette (at the Zénith de Strasbourg on 26 May 2028 at 6:30 PM) has already attracted more than 11 million spectators worldwide. It has been translated into 18 languages and staged in 20 countries.

Launched in 2001 at the Palais des Congrès, where it drew nearly 2.5 million spectators, the production was from the start carried by the duo Damien Sargue and Cécilia Cara. Roméo & Juliette still brings its original duo back to the stage.

For Cécilia, returning to Paris with Roméo & Juliette is moving. "I was chosen at 15 to play Juliet, a role that marked the beginning of my life as an artist. Taking it up again twenty years later, alongside Damien, was a powerful moment, as if we had never really parted but had been enriched by what life has given us. This return has a symbolic value: closing the circle, coming back to where it all began, with 25 years of experience that now nourish the characters in a different way. The story continues to bring people together and to convey love and emotion. It is a joy and a great source of gratitude to reunite with Juliet and the French audience."

Continuing, Damien adds: "Coming back to Paris after taking Roméo & Juliette around the world, notably in Asia, has a particular resonance. This role has accompanied me since 2001, and rediscovering it today alongside Cécilia, with the perspective and maturity that time has given us, gives this adventure a new depth."

With more than 9 million records sold and songs that have become part of French pop culture—such as Les Rois du monde and Aimer—Roméo & Juliette has left its mark on the history of the musical.

For nearly 25 years, the production has traveled across cultures and adapted to the changes of its time: new techniques, new stage codes, new audience expectations. It retains what makes its identity: the songs, the aesthetic and its sense of spectacle.

For Gérard Presgurvic, Roméo & Juliette remains a great love story. Universal and timeless, it poses a current question: how far are we willing to go for love? Shakespeare answers it with a force that spans the centuries. It is a privilege to reunite Damien Sargue and Cécilia Cara, whose experience brings a new depth to the show.

In 2027, Roméo & Juliette returns in a reimagined version, incorporating new generational codes while preserving the essence that has made it successful for a quarter of a century: a timeless story, universal emotions and a distinctive musical signature. This comeback comes with a new cast, new costumes and a new scenography, rethought for today without altering the show's DNA.
