On October 3, 2026, at the Théâtre Sébastopol in Lille, Médine presents Enfants du destin in an acoustic version. For more than twenty years, the rapper from Le Havre has been exploring the fractures of the world; here he returns to the series he began in 2004—stories of childhoods caught up in colonization, war, slavery and oppression. Behind the events, he restores first names and faces, real or fictional—David, Souhan, Kunta Kinte, Nour, Yasser—who carry a collective memory and set the past in dialogue with the present.

On stage, Médine unfolds these stories like a storyteller, in a stripped-down configuration driven by the piano and guitar of Guillaume Zolnierowsky, aka Redzol, and the voice-and-cello of Shéhérazade. Interventions by Karinale Lo van Zaouiche open fissures in the narrative, where speech circulates, questions and hesitates. Directed by Laetitia Botella, music by Proof, adapted by Redzol and Shéhérazade: between concert and theatre, Enfants du destin carves out a sensitive space in which memories and their contemporary resonances are revisited.
