Info

Pond lands in Toronto at The Concert Hall on 24 July 2026 with a set that draws on more than a decade of shapeshifting psych. Formed in Perth in 2008 around Nick Allbrook, Jay Watson, Joe Ryan and Jamie Terry, the band sits at the crossroads of psychedelic rock, glam strokes, oblique funk and synth-forward pop, with songs that slide between moods and structures. Early releases like Psychedelic Mango, Corridors of Blissterday and Frond set the tone; Beard, Wives, Denim and Hobo Rocket pushed the guitars while opening space for keys and electronic textures. Man It Feels Like Space Again leaned into melody, followed by The Weather, produced by Kevin Parker, then Tasmania and 9, which tightened their hook sense without smoothing the edges. With Stung! in 2024, Pond keeps the synths prominent but leaves room for breaks, detours and the live interplay that shapes their concerts. On stage, they move from fuzzed-out surges to sleek, percussive grooves, stacking bright hooks against swirling keyboards and off-kilter rhythms, letting each track twist just enough to keep the floor shifting.
